What Does Good Look Like?
Updated: May 22
In all my years of design and working for progressive, fast-paced businesses, there has always been the question of "what does good look like?" when trying to shape the future or goal of any given topic regardless how unattainable it may seem at the time. Typically, as you start to shape the answer, you have those that say its impossible or those energized and anxious to start. If you have not heard of the International Living Future Institute then you may not have pushed the answer to "what does good look like?" as far as you can with respect to the buildings. I am very intrigued and energized with their global citizen philosophy and sense of responsibility, not just creating a building that is incrementally better, but is actually an advocate of the site in which it is built. As designers and folks who typically look beyond the immediate need for just a building, imagine a built environment more socially just, culturally rich and ecologically restorative because of something you designed. That's what good looks like.
